Beijing is the capital of
the People’s Republic of China, has been inhabited for over 3000 years and has a rich history, culture and architecture. China opened itself to the world and its capital was no exception, visitors looking for history in Beijing and has in the imperial palaces of the Forbidden City which is one of the most interesting parts of the city.Tiananmen Square is part of Beijing’s history. The Tiananmen Gate – Gate of Heavenly Peace is an excellent example of imperial architecture. It is a World Heritage by UNESCO such as the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace, a royal park with vast landscape. There are over 3,000 structures within the park with emphasis on the Temple of Heaven and the Ming Dynasty Tombs. There are more than 20 temples in the city, all of them very interesting and worth a visit. Beijing has been modernized and in 2008 received the Olympic Games having won enough sports facilities extremely modern, the National Stadium is a great example.
