Trabzon is a Turkish city and was

an important port on the Black Sea coast. Founded by Greek colonists in 1000 BC, was once the western terminus of the Silk Road. The city has always been an important trading center on the Black Sea. Trabzon was independent of the Roman and Byzantine empires but was controlled by the Ottomans. In World War I, Trabzon was captured by the Russians. The city is situated between the mountains and the sea and has stunning views.
