of Australia in the Northern Territory State. Alice Springs owes its name to Alice Spring Pond. The city developed from 1880 slowly, the railway line was built only in 1929 and proper roads in 1940. The famous The Ghan rail journey from Adelaide to Darwin, goes through Alice Springs. The town is small but has many natural attractions scattered around it.
