Sucre

Sucre is also known as the “Cradle of Liberty”

because it was here that the Bolivian independence was declared in 1825. Sucre is located in a valley surrounded by low mountains in the central highlands at an altitude of 2800 m (9184 ft). The wealthy colonial architecture, the amazing courtyards and squares makes Sucre probably the most beautiful city of Bolivia. Don’t miss the beautiful 16th century Renaissance cathedral on Plaza 25 de Mayo and its bell tower and museum. You can climb up at the top of Convento de San Filipe to get stunning views over the “White City of Americas”. Sucre is the Bolivia’s chocolate capital.
