New York City  (NYC) is one of the

most visited cities of the world. The city has five boroughs, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island, with its metropolitan area form one of the largest cities in the world. It is one of the most cosmopolitan cities on the planet, has dozens of landmarks known anywhere in the world. New York was visited by Europeans in 1524 and in 1614 began to be called New Amsterdam. In 1644 gained its present name, New York. It has been one of the major cities of the United States and was the capital of the country since independence until 1790. Its port saw the arrival of many millions of immigrants to the country, arrived at Ellis Island which is near the iconic Statue of Liberty. New York has important museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and the Guggenheim Museum. There are points of New York that are known worldwide like the Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Times Square, Broadway, the Chrysler Building, Central Park, Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, Statue of Liberty, Flatiron BuildingFifth Avenue and many more. Manhattan is the main district of the city is where most of the focus of city sightseeing tours. Chinatown, TriBeCa, Little Italy, Soho, Greenwich Village are some of the areas that make Manhattan one of the most popular in the world. No longer the famous Twin Towers World Trade Center but with many skyscrapers that make New York a unique city. The most symbolic at this point are the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. Central Park is a favorite for New Yorkers do jogging and strolling their dogs. The Madison Square Garden as well as home of the famous New York Knicks NBA team is also a place for many musical performances. Times Square is one of the busiest squares in the world, has a lot of movement of people, cars and the iconic neon to make a spectacle of light and color. The Fifth Avenue is probably the most famous avenue in the world, it’s place for many of New York attractions and the city’s best shops. You have to check the movement of Times Square, busy at the day and busy and wonderful at night. If you do not want to go to the Statue of Liberty, you can take the free ferry to Staten Island that passes in front of the statue giving the possibility to take great photos. Long Island is a residence area and a nice place to visit especially in the summer due its Atlantic beaches. Newark, where the second most important airport is located is part of New York City metropolitan area.
