Tate Modern

The Tate Modern is a

museum of modern art located in London. It is housed in a superb conversion of the Power Station, the once unattractive Bankside on the south bank of the River Thames. It has been completely renovated and redesigned by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, is the largest gallery of modern art in the world. The best way to get to the Tate Modern, is through the Millennium Bridge, a pedestrian bridge over the Thames. Among the museum for the Turbine Hall at the western slope, the views are stunning. In the collection of the Tate Modern there are important works by Pablo Picasso, Matisse and Chagall. The galleries are large and light and beyond the permanent collections there are also temporary collections. Some artists like Francis Bacon have entire rooms to expose their works. Art is organized by themes rather than by timeline. Tate Britain is also part of Tate network galleries. Hotels in London
