Lake Trasimeno

Lake Trasimeno is the largest lake

in the peninsula of Italy. It is located near Perugia and is surrounded on three sides by mountains, its green waters are home to an abundance of fish, birds, wild swans, and many other animals. Along the lake there are some medieval fortifications such as Passignano, Monte del Lago and Castigliane del Lago. There are islands on the lake, the Perugian Islands, the Isola Polvese, the Isola Maggiore and the Isola Minore.
