The Palais du Luxembourg
was commissioned by Marie de Medicis Salomon de Brosse, following the model of his childhood home, the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. Located in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, this stunning palace was taken to the Crown during the Revolution, later it was a prison and now houses the French Senate.
