Biarritz is a French city located in the Bay of Biscay
on the Cote des Basque, near the border with Spain. Biarritz has great beaches and is popular with tourists and surfers. The Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, built a Summer Palace in Biarritz, today transformed into the Hotel du Palais. After that, Biarritz became famous among European royalty who chooses this resort town for their holidays. Currently, the city holds the prestige but not exclusivity to the upper classes.
