Lake Meke Crater
was formed millions of years ago. In Catalhoyuf, about 50 km (30 mi) away, was found a painting on the wall of a shrine during excavations, was dated to 6200 BC. The lake is a 981 m (3219 ft) above sea level, is 4 km (2.5 mi) in circumference and up to 12 m (40 ft) deep. The lake of water blue-green sits on a weird vulcanic landscape. The Karapinar Volcanic Field was formed by intense volcanic activity. Just 3 km (2 mi) away is another lake, Crater Lake Aci (Acigolu). You can get the lakes from the city of Konya.
