Peneda Gerês National Park, Peneda Gerês Parque Nacional

Peneda Gerês

Peneda Gerês National Park is located in northern Portugal,

is part of a system of mountain ranges along the border with Spain. It is a region with enormous natural beauty, and it shows in their mountains, lakes, rivers, forests and valleys in perfect harmony with small agricultural communities that are interconnected by ancient paths, trails and even in ancient remains of a Roman road. Tourism has increased but sometimes happens roads traverse the park and did not find anyone but there is always the feeling of being near a small village. Brufe and Cutelo are two picturesque villages in the middle of the park. The village of Arcos de Valdevez is a good starting point for the Peneda-Gerês National Park. The largest city in the Braga region is outside the park but not far. Hotels close the National Park.
