Belém is a famous neighborhood

on the western part of Lisbon. Belém (Bethlehem in English) is the place in Lisbon that is connected with the Portuguese discoveries between 15th and 17th centuries. Some of the Lisbon’s highlights are located in Belém like the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery, the Cultural Centre of Belém, the Belém Palace, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument of the Discoveries)  and two of the most important squares of Lisbon, Praça do Império and Praça Afonso de Albuquerque.
