Margaret Island
In the middle of the Danube River,
in its beautiful passage by Budapest lies the Margaret Island. It is a wonderful green space between Buda and Pest, the island is small, is 2.5 km long by 0.5 km wide. Over the years, the Margaret Island was used for various purposes from a religious retreat, stables for the horses of the Turks, a garden for the royal family and now a public garden.
