Brac is a Croatian island, the third largest

in the Adriatic. It is the most mountainous island in Central Dalmatia, the highest point stands at 778 m (2252 ft), it is the Vidova Gora or Mount St Vid. Brac is famous for the white limestone and dolomite rock. Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) is considered the most beautiful beach of the Adriatic, is a piece of golden sand with 0.5 km (0.3 mi). Murvica is also a beautiful beach. Brac belonged to the Roman Empire and the Byzantine, it was 377 years under the control of Venice. In the 19th century it was controlled by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Natural beauty, fantastic beaches and cultural heritage in a wonderful Mediterranean climate make Brac a stunning island. There are ferries from Split to Brac. Hvar is just south of Brac and very easy to reach the neighbour island. Hotels in Brac
