Lhasa is the holiest centre of

Tibetan Buddhism and the traditional seat of the Dalai Lama. Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, is one of the highest cities of the world, it sits at the foot of the Mount Gephel. Lhasa lies on the north bank of Lhasa Riverin a valley of the Himalayas. Its name means “Land of the Gods”.
