Anyang is one of the

“Seven ancient capitals of China” and one of the key locations in the development of Chinese culture. Archaeologists have have found traces of life in caves for over 25,000 years ago. There were inscriptions on oracle bones. The Tianning Temple was built in Anyang over 2000 years and the Wenfeng Pagoda has existed since the year 925 are just two examples of how old Anyang is. Wenfeng Pagoda with five floors and an octagonal tower of red brick, is the main symbol of the city. The beautiful Chinese architecture can be seen in Xiuding Temple and Mingfu Temple. Yin Xu is an archaeological site first discovered in 1899 is the former capital of the Shang dynasty (1300-1046 BC) a period of great prosperity in the Bronze Age. The Yinxu Ruins and Museum were considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it is a massive archaeological site discovered in 1899 and excavated in the following decades.
