Havana

There’s no place like magic Caribbean

island of Cuba and its capital, Havana. The spectacular Havana Centre (Havana Vieja) considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO with its Spanish colonial buildings, Cuba’s capital is a city of survivors, artists, musicians and lots of color. Without the trappings of consumption of other cities, Havana is full of character and full of interesting museums, history and beaches. One of the last bastions of communism, its political isolation has prevented from being overrun by tourists, those who go to the island will not be disappointed with the wonderful places to discover. The largest Caribbean island has 1207 km (750 miles) of beautiful mountains and plains, with more than 200 bays and nearly 300 sunny beaches. The mountain ranges include the Sierra Maestra to the East, the Cordillera de los Organos to the West and the Sierra del Escambray in the central region. Cuba is rich in culture, food, music and art. There are few things better than sitting in a cafe with a mojito in hand, watching the locals in their daily lives. If you are lucky, you may be invited by one of the residents, which by nature are extremely generous and warm, to visit their homes. Do not be surprised if they offer you something of the little they have available. Many Cubans invite tourists to a home-cooked meal usually consisting of banana, rice, beans, meat and juices, followed by very strong Cuban coffee. Even though people are very poor here, is a feeling that they share everything despite having little to ensure you enjoy your stay in their homeland. At its peak, Havana, was a colonial architecture, although largely faded by time and lack of resources, which could rival that of many European cities in the world. Despite its current state, there is a natural charm in the peeling paint and crumbling walls. Cuba is the dream of every photographer, a place where it is almost impossible to take a bad photo – the once vibrant colors, dreamy light filtered through the blinds plaster cracked and helpless, the smiling faces of the residents, children laughing and running through the dusty streets . Cuba is many things: romantic, friendly, sad, devastated, challenging, easy and, above all, beautiful. Hotels in Havana
