Gros Morne National Park
On the most eastern part of Canada
lies the island of Newfoundland. On the west coast of the island lies the Gros Morne National Park, an area of extraordinary beauty. The National Park is UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, its topography reveals the great stages of the evolutionary history of the planet. Western Brook Pond is the most famous site of Gros Morne National Park, it was formed by the same action that produced the fjords of Norway. Mare Falls is the highest falls in eastern North America. The flora and fauna of the park is vast and includes the Black Bear, Caribou, Lynx and Arctic Hare. It is the second largest national park in Canada just surpassed by Torngat Mountains National Park.
