Halong Bay
The legend says that after the Viet people
found their country, attackers came by sea. When the raiders approached the coast, the Jade Emperor sent Mother Dragon and Her Children to help the people to resist. The dragons opened their mouths and spat out thousands of pearls which turned into islands that defended the people. This is the legend of Halong Bay, a wonderful place located in the province of Quang Ninh, near the border with China. A trip around the bay is carried aboard a junk, a iconic boat of this region. The boats on their way in clear waters, passing between islands and islets of limestone that fill the bay. In Halong Bay you will find sandy beaches, swamp, mangrove forest, coral reefs, rainwater lakes and sea gipsy villages. The Cat Ba Island is the biggest in Halong Bay.
