The Khao San Road is a small street

in the centre of Bangkok. Is located in the Banglamphu about 1 km from the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. Khao San means “milled rice” and has this name because long ago, was held on that street, a major rice market in Bangkok. Khao San Road has become a “backpacker ghetto” world famous, his fame increased after the movie “The Beach” which has the first scenes shot on Khao San Road. On this street you will find accommodation but who choose to stay right on Khao San, you risk not sleep because the noise is constant 24 hours a day. Who wants to sleep in the area, it is advisable to choose the side streets that lie close to Khao San Road.
