Redang Island
Redang is the largest of the nine islands
that compose the archipelago with the same name. On the coast of the state of Terengganu, close to the city of Kuala Terengganu, Pulau Redang is very popular among those who enjoy beach and diving. Kampung Air (Water Village) was built by the government to resettle families of fishermen, is today a place much visited by tourists. Redang and the smaller islands around it are protected by coral reefs, marine life is very rich in Redang and do not need to dive for spotting colorful fish because they are seen along the coast. Pulau Piriang and Pulau Ekor Tibu, are two small islands very famous for the quality of snorkeling. There are flights from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to Redang and there are ferries from Merang.
