Sumatra is the sixth largest island

in the world with 2000 km (1250 mi) from north to south. It is a volcanic island, with 93 volcanic peaks, 15 of them still active, the greater is the Mount Kerinci with 3805 m (12,556 ft). It is a wild island covered by dense forest with many endemic species such as the Sumatran tiger, the rhino with two horns and a specific type of orangutan. Sumatra has several ethnic groups, languages and cultures as Minangkabau in the west, Batak Christians, living around Lake Toba and radical Muslims of Aceh.
