The islands east of Bali are collectively known

as Nusa Tenggara, all of them, Lombok is the most famous. The landscape of Lombok is dominated by its northern mountains, their slopes where the forest stands Mount Rinjani, the second highest volcano in Indonesia. The western side of Lombok is lush, south and east are drier. 90% of the population of Lombok is composed of indigenous Sasak. The Sasaks have their own language and culture, the predominant religion is Islam, but they also have their own religion, Wektu Telu, a mixture of Islamic, Hindu and animist beliefs. Lombok has less than Bali tourism, is an excellent getaway with stunning beaches, good for surfing, scuba diving and snorkeling. There are international flights to Lombok, and ferries from Bali. From Lombok you can get the amazing Gili Islands.  Hotels in Lombok
