The temples were originally built between the 8th and 13th centuries, the vast complex vary widely, there are from the simplest to the most complex kind of temples, from all of them Angkor Wat  is the most known, the largest religious monument in the world that was built for King Suryavarman II at the beginning of 12th century. The Khmer temples are concentrated in Roluos, 16 km (10 mi) southeast of Siem Reap. Here the first temples were built , it was the Khmer capital of Angkor in the area. At the end of the 9th century Yasovarman I created a new capital of Angkor, a larger place where one can find the greatest Khmer temples. The lost city’s most impressive temples are the Angkor Wat, the Bakong, the Bayon, the Banteai Srei, the Ta Prohm and the Baphuon. Bakong is a small temple where highlights and delicate with a pyramid 55 meters (180 ft), the Banteai Srei has some pink sandstone sculptures in excellent condition. The Baphuon has a very large pyramid built between 1050 and 1066 by Udayadityavarman II and a reclining Buddha. The Ta Prohm is one of the most beautiful surroundings with nature, is famous for the giant roots of trees that intertwine with the temple. The Bayon is a complex of 1200 m where are plenty of images of Buddha carved in particular the third level. It is probably the most complex and beautiful of all temples of Angkor, even in surpassing beauty, the chief of all, that we all know, the famous Angkor Wat. The complex is wonderful, there is an involvement between the temple and a huge lake around it. In the western part of the Angkor Wat there is a colony of monkeys that are authentic guardians of the temple. Don’t miss the Angkor Wat‘s sunrise and sunset. Angkor is the most visited place of Cambodia and one of the most visited places of all Southeast Asia. Siem Reap is distant about 300 kms from the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. There are flights from various cities like Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur to Siem Reap International Airport. Hotels in Siem Reap
