Salto Angel in Rio Churun, Venezuela,
is the highest waterfall of the world. From the top of Auyan Tepui (Roaring Mountain) at 979 m (3211 ft), the waterfall runs through Cañon del Diablo (Devi’s Canyon) in Canaima National Park. There are no trails until the top of Angel Falls. You must take a canoe upriver. Angel Falls got its name due to an american adventurer, Jimmy Angel, that landed his plane here in 1937.
