Easter Island or Rapa Nui,

is an island in the Pacific Ocean midway between the coast of Chile and Tahiti. The island is world famous for its 600 giant statues carved in stone (moai) looking out to sea from the shore. The origin of the statues is full of controversy, they were there when the first Europeans arrived in the island. Rapa Nui is perhaps the most isolated place on the planet is 3219 km (2000 mi) away from the nearest population area. An archaeological evidence suggests that Rapa Nui was originally discovered by Polynesians around 400 AD. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a unique landscape with volcanic crater, lava formations, dream beaches and the famous statues.
