Bernardo O’Higgins National Park

Bernardo O’Higgins was the first

Head of State of Chile after the country gained independence from Spanish colonialism in 1818. Illegitimate son of an Irishman, named one of the most famous national parks in Chile. Set in the deep south of Patagonia, the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park covers 35,000 sq km (13,510 sq mi). The fact that the park is only accessible by boat, makes it less exposed to human hands than its famous neighbor, the Torres del Paine. Puerto Natales is the nearest town and Punta Arenas the nearest airport. Don’t miss the Serrano Glacier, the Mount Balmaceda and a kayak tour. Hotels in Puerto Natales
