Salar de Uyuni
The Salar de Uyuni is a salt desert
in southwestern Bolivia. The landscape of this desert is not golden sand but a dazzling white. The Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt concentration in the world, covering more than 12,000 sq km (4630 mi) in area. The Altiplano (plateau) here has no outlet to the sea. There are organized tours of 4X4, which could include a night in the plains of salt or just a day trip. Other longer tours, may extend up to Eduardo Avaroa Wildlife Reserve.
