The peninsula is famous for its marine animals such as sea lions, elephant seals and whales. The only town on the peninsula is Puerto PirĂ¡mides, a very beautiful small settlement. Puerto Madryn is the nearest large town. Whale watching is one of the most important thing to do in Peninsula Valdes.
