Stone Town is the old town of Zanzibar City, the Zanzibar’s largest city, birthplace of Freddie Mercury, has mosques, bazaars bustling, and colonial houses. Zanzibar’s economy is based on tourism, but the island produces and exports many spices. Vasco da Gama, Portuguese navigator, was the first European to discover Zanzibar.
